New bulbs help....

Hi guys. I am new to this forum and have searched regarding this issue but I find myself even more confused than before. I am looking to update bulbs in the headlights from the old yellow ones to a more modern look. I believe I need these for sidelight http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/T10-9-SMD-...item3f1eda3822

Can somebody please tell me if this correct or not. I am not very car savvy so to speak, so will be getting someone else to fit the for me.

Welcome to the forum.
Please be very careful with LEDs bought on ebay. I went through this a few months back and had a near heart attack. the way that these guys take care of canbus is to put a parallel resistor across the bulb contacts. It fools the canbus into thinking there is a good bulb there, but in the process becomes very hot, much hotter than the original incandescent bulb.
In my case the heat generated was enough to melt the LED, the lamp unit through conduction along the supply wires to melt the insulation. I was lucky 'cos SWMBO remarke on the horrible smell and I quickly cut the wires, then replaced the complete unit.
The smell took a few weeks to clear.

If you want a simpler method I have a contact in Wellingborough who could advise and supply you with the correct gear.
I have used his kits on my 2004 A8 D3 3.0 TDI without problem.

He is good for all LED lighting, inside as well as outside. Mine are really good and no problems with overheating or canbus errors. The way he has overcome the sidelight error is a good bit of sideways thinking.
