Default Considering selling my 02 S8 Final edition

I'm reluctantly considering selling my 2002 Audi S8 Final Edition. It's currently out of MOT and has been sitting for the last year, so is a project car.
The car was running as normal throughout 2021 until it developed an engine warning light and slight misfire. I took it to a local VAG specialist who looked at it and said it would need quite extensive work and the cylinder heads to be refurbished. I wasn't in a position at the time to get the work done and the car has just been sitting since. Am now having to move house, so will need to move the car on.
I am just debating whether to get the work done now and sell it fixed up or move it on as a non runner, to somebody on here who is passionate about these great cars and can get it running properly again.

So the car itself is a Final Edition in Avus Silver with the extended purple leather interior. An acquired taste perhaps but certainly an attention grabber. Interior is in good condition, only worn parts are the steering wheel and plastic inserts in d/s door card. Stereo and nav system works well. Windows and sunroof work. Everything apart from A/C not blowing cold.
Bodywork is decent. Only has a minor scrape on d/s front wing and usual dings.
It is on its original 20" FE alloys and has 4 Michelin ps4 tyres, although their tread is low. Car has been rolled in situ to minimize flat spotting.
Mileage is approx 160,000 miles.
Cambelt, tensioners and water pump changed early 2021.
New OE fuel pump, battery & starter motor fitted 2021.

I've got a number of spare parts to go with the car. Subframe, cylinder heads (these will need refurbishment too though), head gaskets and head bolts. Also an engine block from a good working car.

So in all, a lovely car but just needs some time and money spending to get it back to good order. I'm very reluctant to let it go, as I've spent thousands on it but need to make a move on it soon.

Basically need an idea of value for this if possible, then I can put up a price and any advice and/or interested parties, please let me know.

Only have the one picture of it but will aim to get more if there is the interest.

Shame you have to consider selling it, especially at the moment, as the market seems to be hardening a bit against these cars.

Although you've given a fair bit of very useful - and honest - information to help with a possible valuation range, the one key missing bit of info is on the gearbox history and condition - i.e., has it been serviced/refurbed/etc, as that's key on an '8 with this mileage.

Depending on the answer to that - and given what you've said about it needing "extensive work and the cylinder heads needing refurbed", it could be anywhere between about £2.5k and £5k, possibly a bit more if the work mentioned and any gearbox work are inexpensive.

Others will doubtless be along to give more expert views than I could, but good luck on getting a buyer for it - and I'd be interested in the subframe, if in good condition and if you're selling separately

Thanks for that Tintin.
It did have a gearbox service done around 2015 I believe. Will have to try and find any paperwork for that. Does have partial service history with it too.

As for selling the subframe separately, I'd be fine doing that. I seem to recall it was in decent condition but it's been hidden away for years, so I'll have to dig it out and get back to you.
