tips on fitting now boot gas struts

Hi all

Hope that eveyone is well, just a quick one to check as my gas struts for the boot have given up on me . This has made the opening and closing very heavy not good with a full hand of shopping bags as was found at at Tesco.

I have a set coming from the great team at A8 parts...lifesavers as they are about £80 from TSP..
....How easy are they to fit would anyone know or have a guide on this...

Very easy to fit thanks to self locking clamps. No special tools required.

Make sure they are installed 'upside down' as they will last longer in that position.

Just to say thanks for the tips they where waiting for me at home and took all of 5 mins it fit..and that was in the dark .now the boot opens as it should.

Mine stopped lifting boot in cold weather couple of years ago, next spring as weather was getting warmer they started working again a bit but not quite strong enough. I bought second hand pair at A8parts meet, they were working great, till next winter that is then in cold weather stopped again. I have not bothered replacing them and they still work OK in summer. So buying second hand is a bit gamble as you never know how long they will be working and very often false economy as you can get pair of new aftermarket ones for not much more then £20

Yep .thats the same with the old ones , one day working fine than from the next they just stopped was thinking if was the old
The ones from A8 parts seem much better and almost pops the boot up by itself.They make a big differnce as that is one heavy boot on these A8..
