The blanks seem cheap enough.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/281298462932 Its coding it to the car would be the pain? I know when I was messing about with the older A4s and A3s that the immob chip in the key was a one time use. You can program a used chip to the dash if you have the SKC but you can't program a a dash to a used chip. So you'd need a new immob chip but this was with IMMOB II which was easy. Our A8s are IMMOB III or more, I think they need to talk to Audi HQ to get programmed, I'm not sure.
