Default Boot Lid Tool Kit Repair

Hello

When i got my A8 the tool kit that was usually fixed to the boot lid was in the boot with 3 fixings broken so i was thinking of a way to repair it as i was shocked at the price of a replacement tool kit holder.

I repaired an Eames lounge chair a while ago where i had to bond a rubber puck to the wood laminate shell , in my research for what to use too bond i came accross pc7 which is a 2 part epoxy , once mixed and cured its extremely strong and can be drilled , tapped ,sanded etc.

So i thought why not , i mixed some PC7 and set to work on re-ataching the broken fixings.

To my suprise the next morning it had set and was solid as a rock.

refitted it onto the bootlid and it is still there now with all the tools in after many boot closings.

I will post some more pics of it in situ when i get a chance.

Good work.

I see it offers "No Sag, no drip, no shrink"..... sounds like the Viagra of glues! No doubt it will keep rock hard and hold it up forever?

Sorry, I'll get my coat.

Excellent. i had an old Vauxhall about 10-15 years ago, the alloy centre cap had been repaired with what looked like this stuff. Was great stuff, but I've never known what it was. Everyday's a school day!

Tempted to buy some just to have in the garage if/when need be.
