VCDS Security Code
I'm trying to re-code the parts for the headlamp washers where you can reduce the wash cycles:
[09 – Cent. Elect.] [Security Access - 16] (Enter code presented by program) [Adaptation - 10] -> Channel 26 Change to desired number e.g. 10 However I can't get past the Security Access as no Code is presented. Also fancy the needle sweep: [17 - Instruments] [Coding - 07] -> [Long Coding Helper] -> Byte 1 Bit -> 0 Change 0 to 1 Or Check the box for "Gauge Test/Needle Sweep active" I don't see the Byte type info anywhere ie I don't get the 'Long Coding Helper' anywhere else either. When I Recoded to tell the car it has LED DRLs it 'offered' a Security Code no problem. I have a full legit Gendan VCDS doofer and both the Normal Software and the BETA Version to see if that offered any more help. Any ideas folks

Way over my head mate sorry. Only time i've had needle sweep is in the output tests for the instruments but that is for D2

the needle sweep isnt on all cars my 2005 doesnt allow it
i will try to take a look at the other one tommorow to see what mine does

Guys, it's not so much the particular re-codes that I want to do, it's the fact VCDS doesn't show me the 'Long Code Helper' or offer a Security Code.
2008 3.0 TDi is the vehicle.
