If it's a Prinz like mine you get no indication that the LPG is about to run out it just goes from the Red to the flashing amber and beeps.

I got 17.5 MPG after the MAFF change and the best I have ever done is 19.3 (but it is 'S' gearing). I too am not shy about getting to cruising speed and regularily do 90Kph () so thats not to bad. When you look at the price of petrol that works out at about 32MPG!

One thing to watch is that the LPG is fed under it's own pressure from the tank to the converter/evaporator in liquid form. As thge tank empties the pressure drops and if you go for some spirited overtaking you may find the system switches back to pertrol under load. I have had a couple of occasions when this has caused the car to bog really badly. Not good half way through an overtake!!!!

I tend now to manually switch to petrol in the red sector before I do any high risk manuevers.

Thanks Mike, Ben said it was identical to yours and it has got P on the gauge inside, does this mean its Prinz? I wanted to get my MAF changed to so got Ben to order one from Audi, but Ben said mine was fine so he is going to return it, got 30 MPG on the way down doing 85ish all the way and some heavy right foot driving to test it out. What does that equate to in MPG in terms of petrol price? Maths was never my strong point. Really really pleased with this car, it just pulls so hard, the engine seems brand new.

LPG gives about 80-85% of petrol as far as consumption is concerned. I would be surprised if you were getting 30MPG on LPG. If you are that is going to equate to about 45mpg on petrol price wise!!!

I meant I was getting 30MPG on petrol if it were running on it, according to the DIS. Wanted to work out what that was on LPG.

Ignore teh computer it is useless when runniing on LPG.

Only true way is to reset trip run till its nearly empty and note how far for how many litres, sorry if this appears noddy but assume nothing and you can't go wrong

gallons = litres divided by 4.54
mpg = miles/gallons ( obviously! )

so if you did 250 miles with 65 litres

65/4.54 = 14.3 gallons

250/14.3 = 17.5 mpg

if your LPG cost 60p/litre and V power is 120 then you got 35mpg equivilant...

If Ian fixes teh portal you can track your pence per mile to see how well you are doing. Personally I saw LPG as a way to drive a 'nicer' car for ordinary car running costs so was never prissy about how much it used. if I wanted to do my commute as cheap as possible I'd have LPGs a Yaris or something
