My ODB solar charger turned up today.

Hopefully it should save the battery.

I have one of these solar chargers (An aftermarket one)

I'm not entirely convinced whether it works or not tbh.

I have the ctek charger on my cosworth as it used to eat batteries for fun. Thoroughly recommend it.

I've not read anything massively bad about them, not enough to stop me from buying it.

I would like a ctek charger or like but I park on the road and its not an option at the moment.

As long as I can start the car after its been stood for a week or two I'm happy.

I bought one of those years ago from Maplin and it plugs into the ciggie lighter. What's with the OBD plug on this? Why would you want to plug it into an OBD socket buried under the dash instead of the standard fag lighter on the dash? It doesn't even come with a fag lighter adapter... Am I missing something? Doesn't the battery charge via the fag lighter or is it because some cars turn the fag lighters off with the ignition?

I guess some cars may have a switched lighter socket. The spec for OBD2 port is a permanent 12v.
