Default Wiper headlamp wash delay

I find the headlamps want to wash far too often. It uses huge amounts of fluid every time.

Is there someplace in VagCom where the time can be adjusted?

I am not sure but I would say I am afraid not. I do not have washers for headlights in S8 but i did have in A6 and I disabled them 2 weeks after getting the car by pulling the plug for the pump.

Thanks,

I might just do that as I'm fed up filling it up every other day!

Only squirts the windows for about 2 seconds then the headlamp wash uses about 2 litres each side!

could always switch the headlights off when you need to wash the screen (during daylight hours, of course) so they don't fire on the headlights?

I am pretty sure my A6 (1994 C4) lhd back in continent washed them regardless if they were on or off. Not sure if A/S8 is any different.

My D2 S8 only washes headlights if the headlights are on and you pull the switch for more than 1 second constantly. Other option would be to do several short quirts so the headlight wash doesn't cut in?

It's that delay I want to lengthen to about 5 seconds or so.

My Merc only washes headlamps after every 10 times or it might be 8.

I'd have thought this was a VAG Com setting.......aw thing else is

Another option is to fit a disable switch, which will cut power to the headlamp washers, when the headlamps are on. You can use an OEM switch, if you have a blank.
