Default RNS-D Refitting Question

Just got my radio extraction keys for the RNS-D, prior to moving the fog light switches from passenger side to drivers side, to make them easier to access (an idea by notorious in this thread).

I have a couple of questions before I do this for real.

1. I tried the keys and the unit slid out effortlessly, but seems a bugger to replace. Tried it several times but bottom doesn't want to go in fully. There appears to be a large rubber bung on the back of the unit, close to the bottom. Would this be causing it?

2. Do I have to disconnect the RNS-D to work on the wiring for the fog lights, and if so, will I need the radio code afterwards?

They should go back in easily, the bung fits into a circular hole at the back of the frame and helps secure it without vibration.
If it won't go back easily you've probably got some cables in the way - there's plenty of them!
(I've had mine in and out several times a day in recent weeks, it's currently about 1cm out as some new cables I added need routing more carefully. )

If you disconnect it you will need the code.

Cheers for that. There's a couple of cables connected to the right half of the back which may be snagging on the frame and stopping it. Will have to check the book to see if there's a code before I jump in. Would prefer to have the RNS-D working more than having the switches closer.
