01535 - Control Circuit for Right Healight Range Adjusting Motor
Hi there,
After some work which included removing the front end, i had the headlight range warning come up. Cleared it and ran for a while and its come back up. Vagcom has just given me the following : 01535 - Control Circuit for Right Healight Range Adjusting Motor (V49) 30-00 - Open or Short to B+ Any ides on how to fix. I have all my external lights working and it went through an MOT Ta, Lee

Seems your right headlight adjustment isnt working then - There is a module at the bottom of the drivers B pillar that controls the xenons constantly when you are driving. There are two sensors, one front, one rear mounted on the suspension to work out whether the car is dipping up or down and the headlights are mounted on a stepper motor that constantly wizzes up and down to compensate.
If you connected to the xenon light module to receive this message, then perhaps that isnt duff, so I'd consider looking at wiring from that box to the drivers headlight, and the inside of the headlight itself. There are 4 wires that run directly to the stepper motor inside the headlight from the control box.... It would likely pass its MOT if it was pointing straight enough. Its nothing to do with the actual process of giving out light, just where it shines it....

Hi Ian,
Yep can query the module fine and seem to get reasonable reading for the levelness of the car as i was checking things per - http://www.tyresmoke.net/forum/audi-...ml#post1447688 And have a rough voltage level of 2.8-3v on slight slopeing ground. Last night after getting home i checked the beams on the wall in front of me and it looks like i am getting some form of movement happening. Could be a loose connection i guess as the headlamps were removed in taking the front off. Ta, Lee
