Good point. That happened when I fitted a second hand HVAC unit a couple of months ago. The only functions available were rear defrost and the top button which blasts the front screen and demists. No heated seats or temp control etc.

When I phoned my local dealer (Audi Chelmsford) I got the impression, from two separate people, that they played dumb as to knowing what component protection is so then you are pressed to book in for "diagnostic" work and during that 60 quid half hour (probably more like 5 mins) they will just remove the CP.

Thank you.

Called the local stealership, they took 1000sek (equals 85´ish gbp) to do this.
Seems fair enough

That's an ok price. There's an ecu per front seat so they'll have to remove CP twice, but they should only charge you once at 1000sek.

The front seats you have are the standard seats. They have basic functions but depending on your cars options, it may require more work.

Sport seats have the exact same movements as comfort seats, but without the option of massage and ventilation. That's it. Instead they have exceptional bolstering and are a bit lower in the car.

I've seen some standard seats without power seatbelt adjust and missing memory systems as well as manual headrests.

If the standard seats in your car have memory, power headrest and belt, then it should be ok and may not throw a CP.

Do it. Why not mate? Other than the size, weight and CP, it's a doddle (easy).

Don't the seat ECUs talk to the car that they were originally put into?
