The viewing figures for the show on Sunday were down again on Part 1 and Part 2, but on Sunday it was competing with the Euro 2016 football.

I used to find the old TG cringeworthy, excessively cringeworthy at times. Have to say the last episode wasn't bad at all. I really liked Sabine's input. Plus, the quality of the production was very good. Looked like a film.

+ the Focus RS report was excellent - no egos, no bo**ocks, no childish cr*p, just a thoroughly good review.

According to this new article in "The Sun" the beeb are not happy and are reducing the on screen time of Chris by half.

I've linked this story, but another newspaper is reporting the same.

Still 29 minutes and 15 seconds too much in my opinion...

I spotted an 8 on the trailer for this Sunday's show. Not sure what the challenges will be.

Something to do with cooking, from what someone said on facebook.

Has anyone watched the extra gear, I like the presenters on it better than Top gear, I suspect they will get ported over if Evans doesn't settle into the show better.

I think more crucially is that last episode went out at same time as F1 Canadian GP was on, which may have drawn petrol heads gaze.

Still why was the star in the car segment so darn long?

I still feel Evans needs to go, co-produce it maybe but don't present. Matt le Blanc seems to be really settling into it and with Evans out the way he shines that little bit brighter too.

Which puts it in direct competition with Fifth Gear.

Top Gear had evolved from being a car review show into a car-based entertainment show, which is what made it so successful. Sure, it as heavily scripted and contrived but what entertainment/comedy show isn't? It was a show that could be watched by all the family, not just petrol heads. It was just a bit of light-hearted, silly entertainment; you weren't meant to take it seriously.

My own feeling is that if they drop Chris Evans and I ever catch up on watching all the Fifth Gear episodes I missed (which I'm about 3 years behind on) I might give it a try.

I wondered this too...... Seemed excessive really.

I guess the other issue they have is that they are filming more than a week in advance by the sounds of it, so whatever feedback they get, is taking 2 episodes to implement...

And where was the Tesla model X that Chris specifically said was coming in episode 3 ? Pretty basic error to announce the presence of something that doesn't come.

3 episodes left in this season before a lot of folk switch off for ever....
