Nope just the rear pads worn code, implausible signal. Only two other codes across the entire car are an engine mount and a handle touch sensor...

Possibly the calibration won't perform while the 02596 is latched, it comes back immediately when I clear it though so I don't know what to try next.

I agree it might clear any resident memory in the EPB module if you do that

Thanks for the replies. Ok tried disconnecting the battery, left it off for 40 mins, charged it while it was off. Reconnected it and ran the adaptation and function test again several times, still can't clear the code and calibration won't run after I lock the car with the ebp left off..

This is the code.

Have a look at the ross tech wiki page HERE

particularly -
When 02596 - Rear Brake Pads Worn is stored after the pad thickness is adapted, try:
Repeating the Function Test Basic Settings operation and make sure the stored value in Adaptation channel 006 did not resort back to 03. If that alone does not resolve the issue proceed to 2:
Test drive the vehicle and scan it to see if 02596 - Rear Brake Pads Worn switched to Intermittent, allowing you to clear it.

Thanks for that, not sure how I missed that bit! I presume they mean to scan the car while driving and check to see if it changes the intermittant? The adaptation of 11mm stays put, it doesn't revert to 3mm.

Ok so I tried scanning while driving, no change but also you lose communication with the epb controller when you start moving. I think my last resort at this will be to clean the motor connectors.

I had a bit of a faff getting mine to clear error codes, and althougn I cant remeber the exact details, I seem to remeber having to switch on basic settings at some point. Could it be this?

Hi, i'm not quite sure what you mean by 'switch on basic settings'. I go into basic settings to run the function test after the pad thickness adaptation, maybe this is what you mean...

My understanding of the process is:

Connect charger.

Cycle epb on and off again.

Open epb fully in basic settings, group 007, wait 30 seconds then close controller.

Change pads, pump brakes when done to get everything snug

Close ebp fully in basic settings, group 006, wait 30 seconds then close controller.

Put in new pad thickness in adaptation, group 006.

Run function test in basic settings, group 010, ebp moves in and out 3 times, wait 30 seconds then close controller.

Ross tech says you may need to run the adaptation and function test a few times until you can clear the pads worn code. I've done it maybe 15 times now!

Other people are saying you need to then turn off ignition, lock steering, epb left off. Lock car and epb should move and calibrate itself. This last bit definitely doesn't happen on my car.
