A bad relay and the aftermarket wiring I think. I've not found a 'smoking gun', just been through the system in minute detail and made sure everything is ship shape, and now its happy again.

Well done from me too. Great thread. Great workmanship.

I can imagine how Vera will be feeling driving her car today
But with Vera's car departing from the workshop you're going to be left wanting and in need of another car to tinker with.

If you get stuck on whose car to choose next, then I've a red one that would love to make a journey down to Devon in the near future for a little once over

Great work MJ as always but I’m also sad it’s finished as it’s a great read

What’s next?

I know yours is lowered and it sits lovely, but the blue one looks slightly lower as well. has it been?

Vera's is lowered yes. They're about the same height measured by how tight it is to fit the arms of the lift under them both The concrete is a bit uneven in the face-to-face pic so Vera's looks a little lower.

I wonder what D2 will appear in the next gripping episode, and who the lucky owner is?

Last pics after a good coat of wax:

My potato-phone isn't able to capture the incredible gloss this wax gives. The car practically sparkles under street lights. Soooo shiny

148 hours all in, and Vera is on her way home

having seen the price of replacements I look with envy at the chrome trims on the bumpers and sides of vera's car

did she find some magic treatment or bite the bullet and get replacements ?
