Default Blank DIS

After sitting on the drive for a week, all of a sudden my DIS is blank. It took a few miles to notice it as the car starts and runs properly, just nothing on display, nor does the time and date change, despite updating it in the MMI.

I have checked the fuses, and nothing blown, so have run a VCDS scan. There were loads of all sorts of errors so have cleared these to reveal a couple of persistent ones as follows:

I have taken the cluster out just to make sure there are no loose cables, and will do the same with the alarm module and MMI control as these are showing faults, albeit the alarm is an old one.

Other than this, does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks very much

I'm presuming you haven't just hit the button underneath the right hand stalk that cycles the DIS functions at all? It's easy to hit it with your hand and not everyone even knows it's there on an Audi . . . One of the options when it cycles is to turn the DIS off

Default If only...

Indeed I have tried pressing that little button with no improvement. The display is completely blank, no radio info or even gear indicator.
Thanks again

Is it cold? Mine goes blank in cold weather. It's 4C outside right now and mine shows nothing.
It will be OK when it warms up.

1998 D2 PF S8. AgateGrey/Platinum. Every option (I think) except electric rear seats, tiptronic steering wheel, ski hatch, towbar & dimming door mirrors.
e.g. Cruise control, NavPlus/TV, Bose, GSM, Xenons, Solar roof, Parking sensors, Alcantara/leather everywhere of course. (internal dimming mirror added later)

It is a little cold, I have kept the cluster inside over night so will see if a warm cluster works any better.

Do you get any VCDS errors when your cluster is blank?

No, it's just the LCD material doesn't work properly until it's warmer.
