Default Central locking

Does anyone have the circuit diagram(s) for the central locking for a 1996 A8. I am especially interested in the door locks to the lock control module(?) and for that matter does anyone know where on the car this unit is please. Also interested in the wiring from the door lock to the windows up on key hold.

I do have EKTA(?) I'm running of a Linux netbook at the moment which won't support the import of the DVDs to get it all set up and working, let alone a Windows virtual machine to run the software on.

Thanks in advance

I think I've found the central locking unit in the boot below where the aerial sits. Can anyone help with the wiring diagram or a pin out please?

Thats the central convenience unit, which includes the central locking. Elsawin is the best place to get a wiring diagram for it, there will be a number of pages of it as its got a number of wires, door locks, window lifters, alarm functions etc.

What are you looking to do ?

I'm trying to install an aftermarket keyless entry. I chased the wiring from the boot lock to the offside rear wing and tapped in there, but

It works if the boot is open, and if I lock using the remote and then close the boot the alarm arms (beep), but with the bot closed it will not lock or unlock! I can her the unit clicking a relay to flash the indicators so it is getting the signal.

I do have Elsa but wiring diagrams are not working, I am missing a plugin not sure which one i need. I can e-mail you htm file that you can view in browser but wiring diagram will not show unless you have plugin required. I thought it was SVG but no luck reinstalling it

Hi thanks for the offer. I managed to get a cheap Windows laptop off Gumtree and so I now have Elsawin and the access to the diagrams, although it's not helping completely. Audi, in there infinite wisdom, have 3 wires with different signals but the same colour scheme going in to the one plug, and of course I need to use one of the 3! So I'm going to have to use the pin through insulation trick to find the right one.

Thanks for the file. I think those are different to my car but I still enjoyed browsing through them (sad I know!)

Elsawin seems mostly right, it is the Audi design that is now proving the challenge. I think I know what I need to do now but I just opportunity t get back out there.
