Awesome, even love the wheel design. How many real time hours did that take? The package looks pretty intuitive

I'm used to a very spacific bit of 3D software designed solely for ship design, and i'm finding the transfer to other packages very difficult. But as all new build work will be done in Scotland i'm going to have to retrain or go hungry.
That is done in real time, thats how long it takes from start to finish if you understand how the tool works, and obviously they are working from dimensions already calc'd.
They've made it look easy for sure but i'm not having so much joy as yet, 6 fingers and webbed toes and all that, all i can model is a scarecrow

I wondered how the shipbuilding decisions would affect you Dezzy. Another alternative is to come north of the border. and i didnt mean Bristol. Best of luck with the re-training. Have you thought of South Boats IoW - they design and build wind farm support vessels and are pretty busy just now?

I've been Shipbuilding long enough now to have 2 pension funds fold 1 wound up and obviously i'm working away from home at the moment, not to be all bitter and twisted about it, and to be honest travelling from home to Portsmouth or home to Glasgow is about the same flying from Bristol and i'm sure one of the lads up there would let me put a tent or my moblie hotel in a drive, field, garden or something?

I've not looked that hard for work at the moment to be honest, but getting ready to be laid off.

Not good dezzy. What about Southboats on the Isle of Wight tho'? as i said they are v busy. Also, try Docking Solutions Ltd in Totnes. I know the headman there. they design pontoons and harbour stuff.

I don't think Southboats have a drawing office as such and went though the receivers not so long ago, i'm not thinking the rate would be able to pull me the distance across the country. It would probably suit someone closer or from the Isle it's self.
The pontoons and barges and Totnes is interesting though, Dezzy built the Millennium barges at Westninster, Blackfriars and Embankment.
