I agree. My eyes have recently been opened to the difference fresh oil makes. The car was no slouch before but after picking it up from a recent service it was like a coiled spring. The throttle in Sport Mode was more like a trigger than a pedal, it was unreal.
I asked my father-in-law to try it to see the difference and all I head as a passenger was a stream of expletives as he took off down the road.
We both thought the garage had changed the plugs and tuned it. When I asked them they said all they'd done in accordance with the service schedule was put new oil in. They explained that the stuff coming out was thick and black and how new oil helps the engine breath cleanly again etc.
I had no idea the results new oil could make.
