Default 2.8 remap to almost 3.7 prefl performance

Once my car is mechanically sound I plan to get it remapped in 2022..
I've been looking around and not a lot of places are not able to offer anything for it but the two companies that I found can pretty much remap it to performance of the 230 3.7 prefl engine, only given whe the engine, gearbox and the rest are in good order.

What are your experiences/opinions on this?

I'm aware that If i wanted a faster car i could have gotten a V8 model but for me this is just an Icing on the Icing on the cake and I don't care that much for power in the A8, its all about the refinement. I would be running stock (quiet) exhaust, stock air filter and S8 wing mirrors (+8hp) or so I've heard

The only comment I have is which BHP figure are they promising because those images show two. The first image shows their tune getting 212bhp, 19bhp up from normal and typical of a N/A tune, but the second image shows 226bhp, 33bhp up from normal.

I even checked the images two or three times to make sure I wasn't mistaken, so why such a glaring mistake on their site.

I don't believe those claims for one moment. The 2.8 30V is famous for its lack of tunability so 10-15% from a remap is off in lala land. Most likely they're messing with the throttle pedal map to make it feel faster and then just dumping in loads of extra fuel for no benefit.

I'd trust your +8bhp from aluminium mirrors more than those remap claims

Haha that's that then. I'm better of putting that money towards a nice detail. Thanks.

There used to be a PES supercharger kit claiming 280 BHP, but I think its NLA.

Stick to tootling in a nice shiny motor.

I know about those, there was a 2.8 AMX passat for sale few years ago with that supercharger with a printout for 295 but it sounded like a meat grinder when revved which in my opinion would spoil what the A8 is all about.
If my engine dies ill stick 3.6 V6 from a superb in it just to be different

A VR6 D2 would be a very good thing It goes in an A4 so it should go in a D2. On my list of 'things I won't get to try before we're not allowed to burn dino juice any more'.
