Default Manifold actuator thingies

On my way back from Mackies today (yet another gearbox service, now at almost 194K miles) I noticed the tell-tale sound that usually accompanies a broken actuator arm. But when I got home and went to replace the broken arm, I discovered it wasn't a broken arm at all.

As you can see from the attached photo, the bellows on one side has become detached and whatever attaches them has broken. Question is, are these still available and , if so, where can I get them? And are they easy to fit?

Thanks, Jim

I seem to remember that Audi does not sell them separately, only complete manifold. But you can get them from Lamborghini and and some other cars have virtually identical bellows, maybe Land Rover

Just found that here: https://www.britishparts.co.uk/land-...actuator-p2180

Thanks Ainars!

These are about the same price as the copies from China on ebay. Now, which should I order, I wonder?

There is a 'repair kit' for them that contains one bellow, one nut and two connecting rods (short and long). The part number is 077198327A. There are a couple listed on eBay as 'genuine' priced around £250-£270 (catalogue price is over £300. As they say, cheaper options are available.

Decisions, decisions. Be the first and start a craze of replacing Audi parts with Land Rover parts.

That’s not what’s broken. I’ve replaced these on my 3 ‘8s a number of times but, on this occasion, as you can see in the photo, the arms are intact. It’s the connection to the bellows that’s broken.

Well, the Land Rover part arrived and I fitted it today. The part number and manufacturer's stamp on the back of the bellows are identical (see photo). And it all seems to work fine.

The only teeny snag was that the tube on the back that attaches to the vacuum pipe didn't line up properly with the mounting bracket hole, but there doesn't seem any reason that it has to.

The Land Rover part, with postage and VAT, was about £100, so a much better option that the Audi parts ot the Chinese copies.

Good that you've sorted that Jim And also good to find out that there is a source for another part that doesn't suffer Audi inflation or is NLA
