Default headlight range defective

This error just shot up on my dash. Turned it on and off and was fine. Should i be worried??

Could be as simple as one of the ride height sensors on its way out, VCDS will co firm and really easy to change if it is.

Had the exact same thing recently. Started off with the headlamp range light appearing then going away again. A couple of weeks later it came back on, but this time with the air suspension warning light. As said above, it turned out to be the ride height sensor.

When you get into VCDS you can look at measuring blocks which show the voltage at the sensors - if one of them is 0v or varies inconsistently with ride height (requires an assistant to bounce each end of the car) then it points to the faulty end. Can just be a dodgy connection though
