Brilliant.

One of the joys of subcontractors.
They almost always have flatbeds.

Any word from Poole Audi?

You're having rotten luck with this car! Fingers crossed this has a positive (and wallet friendly) outcome.

They called me at 9.30 this morning, apparently its all fixed having had the coils replaced.

They did one of their full inspections as well, and no problems to report except the lack of headlight washers which I know about. They obviously did not scan the car with the diagnostics tool as it would read like a book.

Who knows,

Got the car back, all normal again and nice and smooth. Will be interesting to see if anything improves, maybe the coil has been deteriorating over time rather than just a sudden failure. Very odd getting an invoice from Audi for £0.00

So this was a free repair because it's a recall item or similar? I have a 3.7 D3 running fine (touch wood!) but very occasionally as you go to start it, it clicks as if the battery is dead, but a cycle on/off of the ignition and all is well. I wonder if this is also a similar issue?

Presumably and Audi dealer would know if a coil pack had been changed?

Yeah, just ring them and quote the registration number and they'll tell you whether it's been done

Yes, there was a recall on the coils so assuming your car has not been done then chances are you can get a whole new set for free. To find out just call your nearest dealer service dept. with the reg number of VIN and they can look it up.

Not sure it will fix the occasional starting problem, mine does it once every 3 weeks or so as well. I did some googling and I believe its a software issue from what I found out. Mine seems to happen if the start button is pressed rather than the key in the dash. I did have a link saved, but cannot find it now.

Flat bed a 4x4 only.

I had a argument with AA in the past about towing my XR4x4. 3rd driver got it right with a flat bed.

Don't risk it!!
I never knew this to be honest. Seems logical now though!
