Default Centre box delete.

Hi all Just wondering if anyone has removed their centre box on a 4.2.

I think mine is going to need replacing before long so just wanted to know what they are like with just the back box.

Thanks in advance

I couldn't tell you what it's like with a standard back box and no centre but I've been playing around with mine recently and at the moment I have an aftermarket back box with no centre and it's loud! Drones pretty badly in the car at lower RPM and still has the cats in place. It does sound good though.

I may try the S8 back box and no centre to see how it sounds. I would imagine it would give a nice V8 character over the standard full S8 system. I went for an aftermarket system as it's stainless and it fills the rear bumper properly, plus it sounds good.

I've got the back box deleted on mine and the drone area is really only at 70-80 mph - I think the middle box does more low range noise deletion and the back box higher range. The sound with the back box gone is pretty lovely

Come on then guys you must have a video with some noise

I think my centre box is blowing slightly so it either needs replacing or removing completely. I need to hear more burble lol.

Link to mine is HERE although it doesn't do the burble justice, I really must get some more burble video shot

Hi I've been looking into the std silencers and the centre box has a crimp on each pipe and the rear silencer is a work of art! But not for performace! The drivers side at first looks like its a straight through type, but just before the tailpipe it has a insert with a 1"3/8 (if my memory's correct) hole through it.
And the p/s is totally different with 2 180% bends!! Not ideal
Cheers dave

Are there any MOT implications on removing one of the silencers.

How easy/hard is it to remove the centre box?
