Yes the gearing does look appealing but I won't be doing much with it for the next week or so as I've had an off when I was in a private carpark testing another bike, no helmet and it was raining There is a strip of cobbles laid in front of the lock-ups, some of the cobbles where they meet the tarmac were breaking away and holes were plentiful but not noticed because of the rain, plus there was oil or diesel on the road making it treacherously slippery and I went down with a bang. I don't remember anything about it and the first I knew I was in the Western getting patched up. I couldn't collect my car for 3 days. Face re-arranged, back of head took a fair old crack, knuckles on both hands smashed, right elbow bashed up, right knee bashed up and a cracked rib.
Took the Genesis out for a wee spin round the block and every time I went over a rough bit of road my head felt like it was going to explode, so I'm not cycling until it feels better

Lesson learned, wear the bloody helmet or prepare to die.

Best of it is I won't even go round to the corner shop without my helmet, but because I was in a private carpark I never even thought about putting it on

Ouch! Sounds like a fair old clatter you took. Hope you're better soon.

Thanks guys, getting better but now that I'm in the sights of the NHS they keep inviting me back for tests, tests and more tests. I've been in just about every hospital in the Greater Glasgow area over the last few months. Yesterday I was having a biopsy done, not nice and now I'm not allowed on my bike for another week

Not too badly.. Clipped a cats eye about 5 miles in and blew the rear tyre. Caved on the Glendoe climb too, but overall 5s quicker than last year, so can't complain.
