Quick look at the D3 Fridge / Coolbox
There are two versions, a Coolbox at around £1000 for 5 seater cars that required a center pop up headrest, and a Coolbox with bar compartment for 4 seater cars with individual electric rear seats @ £1450 that instead of a pop up center headrest, comes with a glasses compartment with 2 glass tumblers.
I have the former in my 4.2 Tdi. Note this is a proper refrigerated unit, not just a chilled feed from the A/C like you might get in the glovebox or similar. Its a very well insulated, electrically powered fridge that runs whenever the ignition is switched on. It does refrigerated remarkably well The door, located between the two rear seats: And with the door open: And yes, it uses some space in the boot, but unless you carry singularly large items a lot, then actually the luggage space is still very sufficient and you can pack things around it easily:

it wouldnt be much good to me, on trips to france the boot is fully loaded and my current need for a double buggy and all the other crap babys need with them makes it impossible. i would also use it rarely
so why do i still want one  it loooks very neat tucked in there

Whilst I would have loved to have the fridge in mine, it is a choice between carrying golf clubs or having a fridge. The golf clubs win out for me as the boot is not quite deep enough to fit a set of clubs straight in, and the battery and ICE areas stop you having the clubs across the boot.

Nice. I also notice your left-side removable panel in the boot bulges out instead of in. Mine bulges in and has stowage net.
Is that due to the fridge's gubbins?

2003 D2 FL S8. Irish Green Pearl/Beige. Solar sunroof, auto-dim mirrors, electric rear seat functions, ski hatch retrofit; extended leather. Aftermarket DVB-T, reversing camera and full XCarlink (Bluetooth etc.). 2016 Volvo V40 T5 Cross Country (4WD) with ALL the toys including adaptive cruise etc. etc. Osmium Grey with Blonde/Charcoal leather interior. Polestar performance "optimisation". (A much rarer model than a D2 S8 by the way!) Oh, and a brand new engine at just under 30,000 miles on the factory one!  Finally: gone, but not forgotten..... 1998 D2 PF S8. AgateGrey/Platinum. Every option (I think) except electric rear seats, tiptronic steering wheel, ski hatch, towbar & dimming door mirrors. e.g. Cruise control, NavPlus/TV, Bose, GSM, Xenons, Solar roof, Parking sensors, Alcantara/leather everywhere of course.  (internal dimming mirror added later)1998 (very early) Ford Focus 1.8 Zetec; ABS/TCS, Heated screen/mirrors, Aircon, Auto-dim mirror, Leather, Trip computer, Cruise control, OEM Ford SatNav with CD changer. And before that a lot of Rover 800s, a few oddities, a lovely Triumph Dolomite 1850HL with Overdrive and way back in my schooldays an Austin Seven aka Mini 850!

The earlier cars with B&O had 2 amps mounted perpendicular to all the other gubbins, makes it stick out. Its like they were desperately trying to retain the room for the RSE DVD changer as theres a perfectly huge rectangular space left for it in there... !
