Default Instrument cluster warning lights

When I switch on the ignition before starting the car, what warning lights should I see on the instrument cluster ?

I see the immobiliser, EPC, ABS, airbag, handbrake but no sign of an engine management light.

Is this correct ?

The engine light should be on before you start the car and then go out.

My 1998 S8 and friends 1997 A8 did not have bulb in it an opening was covered with paper sticker from factory. Put the bulbs in and both working as supposed to. It is red CAT light in both not amber engine management.

Apologies for not replying sooner but thanks for the replies.

having scanned with VCDS, it would appear it's been removed to get it through an MOT at some point.

I've now replaced the lambda probe and all the secondary air vac hoses and the ecu is clear of codes.

Are the bulbs easy enough to replace ?

They are LEDs and not bulbs, so it may have just been taped over.
