Default Fitting an aux input / iPod input to d3

Hi folks, I know this has been covered by a few but I cannot seem to find a definitive post on upgrading to an aux input / iPod input. My D3 does not have an ami.

I previously tried a fischcon module last year with aux input and it never worked - waste of time.
I bought the 3 cd mmi update but the Bluetooth update cd wouldn’t work. That’s why I’m settling on fitting an aux input.

Any suggestions welcome.

Thanks

Have you got TV? You could get a feed into the TV unit in the boot as a line in. You need a cable as discussed here:

I have used the AV inputs in the tv module to run a simple Bluetooth receiver that worked very well. (Fusion BT-100) But this allowed no data to be transferred from the phone to the car for music or calls. And touching the phone is a $1000 fine here while driving.

So I spring for an Apple CarPlay retrofit. Much more useful and about the same price as AMI and uses factory MMI controls

As for the Update cds, the first pass of the Bluetooth CD wipes the module, and the second pass installs the correct software. So you have to run it twice.
Give that a go too.

Mike
