Default Wanted - O/s indicator PF S8

If you have one that one of your (female) colleagues hasn't smeared the trim peice into and is still watertight I would like it. A8 parts hasn't got one at the moment.

Bill

Strangely, cosmeticly the damage looks close to what happened when My black one ate the Clio, barring crumpled metal bits

Gotta love Bints. yes I am about to be sexist, don't do it often but sometimes grumpiness overcomes reason. When she did it I said if she wanted to take it off the books she should expect to pay the thick end of £700 so insurance would probably be easier for her. OK that's fine she says. I get a few quotes and tell her the good news, £550. Wasn't I nice doing the running around for her? Scrub that idea, I now have to deal with insurance companies, approved repairers who won't touch ally shells and no bloody 8 for three weeks.

I'm in our Suzuki wagon R. 1.4. Auto.

R that rhymes with "WAAAAAAGGHHHHHH" which is the chorus of engine noise and my howls of pain as I drive the 13 miles to work in the morning.

My hire car plus bit on my policy doesn't count for the proverbial unless my vehicle is pronounced unroadworthy. That won't happen until the 18th. I'm not driving a scuffed and crunched car so HEY ho. No it's not good enough but what the hell can I do?

Wimmin drivers.

I've concluded that (exactly as quoted) for every single policy I've ever had that offered it as an option. Money for diddly-squat in any real-world situation.
So I've always removed it.
Just another insurance "con" IMHO.

Finally: gone, but not forgotten.....
1998 D2 PF S8. AgateGrey/Platinum. Every option (I think) except electric rear seats, tiptronic steering wheel, ski hatch, towbar & dimming door mirrors.
e.g. Cruise control, NavPlus/TV, Bose, GSM, Xenons, Solar roof, Parking sensors, Alcantara/leather everywhere of course. (internal dimming mirror added later)
1998 (very early) Ford Focus 1.8 Zetec; ABS/TCS, Heated screen/mirrors, Aircon, Auto-dim mirror, Leather, Trip computer, Cruise control, OEM Ford SatNav with CD changer.
And before that a lot of Rover 800s, a few oddities, a lovely Triumph Dolomite 1850HL with Overdrive and way back in my schooldays an Austin Seven aka Mini 850!
