Hey Dean,

At the moment I’m just running the US corner lamps without any additional wires or bulbs - straight bolt in.

I did have the additional corner sidelights wired in but I had to remove them as they kept throwing up a bulb out error when braking. I couldn’t be bother to invest any further time on them....maybe one day

I remember when I first got them fitted; I was over the moon. It’s so subtle but cleans up the rear end so much. The cost was a bit ridiculous to be honest but c’est la vie. I’m sure all in from the US it was somewhere in the region of £250 once converted from US to GBP. The units were about £60 each, shipping was £70, and then import duty was a further £60.

Ricky, thanks for the videos. Car looks great!
The indicators look perfectly clear to me.
Did you have any trouble during MOTs?
I have one US corner unit, I need to find another one. I really prefer the colour compared to UK/EU units.
Thanks

OK. So just the standard bulbs that you had in your EU/UK lenses?

So I just need to find the lenses, bolt them in, and then deal with any MOT inspectors / other drivers who don't think that they are doing a sufficiently legal job at indicating.
Brilliant!
Thanks

No issues with MOT’s so far. I still have my original units just in case though.

Yes to all of the above

A cheaper alternative is to use red film or red spray. From my days as a ‘dubber’ (VW golf modding days) this was quite popular and had really good results.

I vaguely recall a film called something like "Fly Eye" that would let light through but look whatever was printed on it in spots.

2003 D2 FL S8. Irish Green Pearl/Beige. Solar sunroof, auto-dim mirrors, electric rear seat functions, ski hatch retrofit; extended leather. Aftermarket DVB-T, reversing camera and full XCarlink (Bluetooth etc.).
2016 Volvo V40 T5 Cross Country (4WD) with ALL the toys including adaptive cruise etc. etc. Osmium Grey with Blonde/Charcoal leather interior. Polestar performance "optimisation". (A much rarer model than a D2 S8 by the way!) Oh, and a brand new engine at just under 30,000 miles on the factory one!
Finally: gone, but not forgotten.....
1998 D2 PF S8. AgateGrey/Platinum. Every option (I think) except electric rear seats, tiptronic steering wheel, ski hatch, towbar & dimming door mirrors.
e.g. Cruise control, NavPlus/TV, Bose, GSM, Xenons, Solar roof, Parking sensors, Alcantara/leather everywhere of course. (internal dimming mirror added later)
1998 (very early) Ford Focus 1.8 Zetec; ABS/TCS, Heated screen/mirrors, Aircon, Auto-dim mirror, Leather, Trip computer, Cruise control, OEM Ford SatNav with CD changer.
And before that a lot of Rover 800s, a few oddities, a lovely Triumph Dolomite 1850HL with Overdrive and way back in my schooldays an Austin Seven aka Mini 850!
