When the pump fails it just takes a while for the heater to heat up.
So not the "Auxiliary coolant pump" that gets noisy as it ages? The one that kicks in when you use the "Rest" function.
If it is I've cut the wiring to it and taped it up as it got really noisy years ago (just like my original PF S8).

Heater still warms up fast enough for me.

Good to know. If you have a rummage around you should find the cut wires taped up with Certoflex.

Looking at this was IIRC item 27 on my list from early March, I think you commented then about a future solution with A6 components, potential retrofit as definitely not ready in time.

I think I was in a competition with someone else here, we were both approaching 40 items. And that's on top of all the "standard" stuff MJ does.....

Not all will get done, some of it was more of a wish list....
And some, like this, are "planned future developments".

Another good day today thanks to Mike coming over to help

Got the fan finished off

Some trauma had happened with the centre scuttle trim bolt so I put a new rivnut in there

Botang's hole

MJ's grommet

Bedded down on seam sealer

and then covered completely

I completely forgot to get any pics of detailing the engine bay and fixing broken studs, and then we put the engine back in

Nice and clean and treated with sealant

Most of the top end back together

Coming along nicely. I particularly like MJ's grommet for Botang's hole!

Pretty sure that was the windscreen fitters who replaced it before my ownership; they had no idea how to refit the scuttle cover and just drilled it out and bodged it.
Wrecked the scuttle cover as well with what they did.

This time the windscreen will be replaced under MJs eagle eyes and they won't touch any of the trim!

What's the benefit of using the D3 version? Is it that the D2 is nla or is the D3 version better and quieter?

It's the same part with different connector that has reversed polarity. D2 part is NLA.
