It should have 21" wheels, they certainly look smaller. The seller has put new ones on with new tyres since that photo. It does have the pan roof, just can't see it at that angle.

Going to see the car tomorrow, make sure everything works as it should! I've also paid for a full vehicle history check and everything checks out.

It's on 149k miles, sounds like nothing to be concerned about but will listen for any rattle on start-up for the chain tensioners.

It's a 2011 4.2 tdi, what sort of price should I be looking at? I was thinking somewhere around £12k any thoughts or anyone knowledgeable in the Manchester area at about 3pm tomorrow?

4.2 TDi is pretty bullet proof.

On a 2011, I suspect its the 8 speed gearbox, which doesnt seem to be as reliable as the older 6 speed so I'd be making sure the gearbox feels ultra smooth and without fault. I had a 2012 4.2 TDi on 199K miles and it drove perfectly, so its not a guaranteed failure if that makes sense.

Air suspension, like the A8, can fail with age, but 2011 should be ok. Worth testing it all goes up / down without an issue.

12K doesnt feel far off. Make sure its an Sline, the SE's are worth way less even though they tend to have a higher spec.

Pan roofs have been known to leak a little, but without a link/.reg/vin/full spec its hard to say what to test/check specifically. Have fun and enjoy

That sounds good, thanks Ian. It is an 8 speed. There are a lot more electrical things to check compared to the D2! If I remember correctly, the doors need to be closed to check the suspension too.

The plate is PX11UCT and was also on X321MAS for a while

Nothing special in the spec that I can see but has what I want plus adaptive cruise.

DVLA says its red, build code suggests its exclusive...

It has sports seats, but its not clear if its actually an sline, but still, its sounds nice

I think it looks like Shiraz red but could be wrong, I assume someone could have requested any colour they wanted with exclusive.

I decided to buy it after looking at it, the only things I would have wanted extra would be twin-pane glazing and DAB radio but I can live without those.



Drove back from Manchester and also had a trip to Plymouth. It was nice to drive sitting higher up and with the adaptive cruise. The seat wasn't as comfortable as the D2 for sitting on but the back rest gives more support at the top. Loads of space inside for the children which is what I needed most and also something that doesn't make me worry every time the children get in or out! This will take a few parking dents and mess inside and I don't need to worry about it

The S8 will be up for sale late July after a trip to FiftyFive Detailing and oh will I miss it, has been the best car I've owned by far.

Hopefully I'll be back in an '8 before too long, the children won't be little for long and we keep bumping the little one's head getting into the S8 with a rear facing seat! So much room in the Q7 that she will be able to rear face for longer.

No idea on the colour code or name!
