Default VCDS Auto Scan cannot reach modules

Not sure if this is a VCDS problem or a physical problem with the car. When I do an Auto Scan the modules cannot be reached (pic below). However all modules can be reached if I go directly into them and coding, measuring blocks etc.. work fine without any problem.

My last Auto Scan that worked was back in June on version 14.10.2.0 (x64)

Since then VCDS has updated to 15.7.0.0 (x64) & 15.7.1.0 (x64) and also the firmware in the cable has been updated.

Does anybody have any ideas that may help?

Cheers

When you update the software it normally asks you to connect the cable so it can "re-discover" connection method etc - did yours do this?

Hi Neil,

Yeah, the connection is fine. There was one error on the battery module because she's been parked up without a decent drive. I'll do some digging once the rain stops here and see if it's an energy management issue with the car.

Just to conclude this thread, it was a battery issue. Installed a new battery and VCDS auto scans fine now.

Usually if it's reporting battery voltage much lower than 12.5V anywhere it can start to go screwy it seems.

Glad it was straightforward to sort
