no go to 07 Control Head

goto channel 11

then read

if ther is a number that can be read, note it down, Add 256 to the number, and enter the result of that back in and test

if it accepts it, save the changes

reboot the MMI and see if the AV1 and AV2 are there

Looks like you are doing it correctly - maybe the MMI firmware you have is tool old and it was a feature added in a later version?

very strange , so you have no access to the hidden menu and the channels for the AV dont work, are you using a proper cable from gendan or ross tech?

just read that the first versions of mmi firmware didnt have access to the screen for hidden menu, likewise lots of stuff will not be available to you

the mmi should show you what firmware you have currently

you may need to bring it up to date

if your bluetooth is worling fine i would just do disk 1 of the 5570 firware

So it would be interesting to understand what MMI version you're on and to see your ECU 17 scan.

I also think you may have isuues with the Adaptation due to your 'label file'. If you scan the ECU it will indicate the label file used by VCDS. Then go and look at the file in the LABELS folder with Notepad.

This is what mine looks like:

** ECU Scan data - I'm at 5570 **

Address 07: Control Head Labels: 4E0-910-7xx-07.lbl <--------
Part No SW: 4E0 910 769 Q HW: 4E0 035 729 A
Component: Interfacebox H43 5570
Revision: 00000000 Serial number: 300KS047541498
Coding: 0000002

Subsystem 1 - Part No: 4E0 910 609 A
Component: Bedienteil MMI H42 0020

Subsystem 2 - Serial number: 318IE047510004

Subsystem 3 - Serial number: 7409.09.0400000000218B0053ÿ

Subsystem 4 - Serial number: 8B0053ÿ

No fault code found.
================================================== =
** Label file extract 4E0-910-7xx-07.lb**

A008,0,Service Menu
A008,5,Service Menu
A008,6,0 = Service Menu NOT active
A008,7,1 = Service Menu active
A008,8,
A008,9,The Service Menu gives you access to certain advanced functions.
A008,10,Use this at your own risk and only if you really understand
A008,11,what it is meant for. You can reach the menu by pressing
A008,12,and holding the buttons [SETUP]+[CAR] simultaneously.

VCDS needs an appropriate Label file to do the adaptations, so suggest you identify your label file and look at what it's got for A008 ...

Julian

PS You're using a VERY OLD version of VCDS too

Is it a genuine copy of Vcds or a cheap hack from eBay

If it's legit I recommend you update to the latest Vcds and try again
