Is that all that's needed?!

From the comments on the previous page I thought fitting a tuner to a car with none from the factory would be an impossible task?

if you have no TV or reverse camera there is another module to buy as per the text. You'll also need a FBAS compatible display interface. Kufatec will sell it to you (part 35600) for £650.

Does the display interface have component protection?

Yes it does unfortunately, however there is a guide on how to add FBAS to your non FBAS interface, quiet complicated and involves a lot of surface mount soldering. No need for component protection removal then, just some coding.

...so, if I don't have a TV at all then I will need this 4E0035729 and the tuner inc aerials and necessary cables, correct??

OEM aerials is almost certainly going to be a whole world of hurt.
There's a thread somewhere where IT shows how the D2 aerials are fitted, access involves stripping out most of the rear cabin. Can't imagine D3 is any easier.

1998 D2 PF S8. AgateGrey/Platinum. Every option (I think) except electric rear seats, tiptronic steering wheel, ski hatch, towbar & dimming door mirrors.
e.g. Cruise control, NavPlus/TV, Bose, GSM, Xenons, Solar roof, Parking sensors, Alcantara/leather everywhere of course. (internal dimming mirror added later)

And before that a lot of Rover 800s, a few oddities, a lovely Triumph Dolomite 1850HL with Overdrive and way back in my schooldays an Austin Seven aka Mini 850!

Aren't the aerials on the rear screen? Which would mean you'd need new rear screen, and new antenna amplifier.

Don't know about D3, but on D2 they are behind the trim around the screen, 4 of them for the diversity receiver. I would expect D3 to be vaguely similar.

Radio aerial is usually part of the rear screen.
