Got back from our trip and found this!


Car has been kept outside since I bought it almost 5 years ago. Never seen this before.







Its all over the leather. Seats, Door Cards, Steering wheel etc. Fortunately the Alcantara is ok!

The foot well carpets are damp so I'm guessing the drains blocked while I was away. Funny thing is the mold is dry and is coming off the seats well. Door cards are a bit stained though. Maybe a trip to Eaglescliffe is in order!

2003 2.8 A8SQ - powder blueish. Fill in for a while. Sold on.
1998 1.8T A4 Avant FWD. Ming Blue (there's a theme here), PEX for the 97 S8.
And a list of non VAG going back 40 years before I saw the light.

Holy cr@p! How long has it been left for? I'm guessing all the mould is from the air stagnation?

Urhhh thats disgusting, the state of that door pocket
I've had my seats go like it in the past front and rear but not the door cards. I wondered if it was just the fact it was a little damp inside or if it was linked to products i had used to clean / condition the leather?

I've had some mould growth in the past, especially on the leather, but not quite that bad and not so widespread.
The really bad areas I saw were on the door shuts and bottoms of the door trims.

Cure the water ingress and dry it out (slowly) with silica gel bags. Keep an eye out for leather shrinking and peeling off the backing as it dries, you may need to soften, stretch and reattach some of it.

The mould will just go as it dries, hoover it all away. When totally dry check for staining and clean carefully and appropriately.
I think Alcantara just needs gentle sponging with tiny amounts of water and very dilute mild detergent - don't soak it.
Leather I use Woollies products to clean, recolour and recondition.

2003 D2 FL S8. Irish Green Pearl/Beige. Solar sunroof, auto-dim mirrors, electric rear seat functions, ski hatch retrofit; extended leather. Aftermarket DVB-T, reversing camera and full XCarlink (Bluetooth etc.).
2016 Volvo V40 T5 Cross Country (4WD) with ALL the toys including adaptive cruise etc. etc. Osmium Grey with Blonde/Charcoal leather interior. Polestar performance "optimisation". (A much rarer model than a D2 S8 by the way!) Oh, and a brand new engine at just under 30,000 miles on the factory one!
Finally: gone, but not forgotten.....
1998 D2 PF S8. AgateGrey/Platinum. Every option (I think) except electric rear seats, tiptronic steering wheel, ski hatch, towbar & dimming door mirrors.
e.g. Cruise control, NavPlus/TV, Bose, GSM, Xenons, Solar roof, Parking sensors, Alcantara/leather everywhere of course. (internal dimming mirror added later)
1998 (very early) Ford Focus 1.8 Zetec; ABS/TCS, Heated screen/mirrors, Aircon, Auto-dim mirror, Leather, Trip computer, Cruise control, OEM Ford SatNav with CD changer.
And before that a lot of Rover 800s, a few oddities, a lovely Triumph Dolomite 1850HL with Overdrive and way back in my schooldays an Austin Seven aka Mini 850!

It's probably a combination of a little wet in the car, poor air circ and that extremely damp Devon air.

Just take deeper breaths it'll go away quicker.

I just wiped over with a damp cloth, it all came off really easy.
