Default Wanted: nearside FL D2 S8 hub carrier

As per title, I require a nearside hub carrier/upright/assembly please.

Part number is N/S 4D0407257Q. Apparently Audi also released a superseded part number that will fit as well, 4D0407253A.

Cheers
Rich

According to my parts list, the item is termed as "Knuckle, Steering" (which might help searching) and the part numbers are:

1997-99 Right 4D0 407 258L; Left 4D0 407257L
2000 to VIN X005500 - R 4D0 407 258K; L 4D0 407 257K
fm VIN X005501 - R 4D0 407 254 : L 4D0 407 253
2001-03 R 4D0 407 254A : L 4D0 407 253A

This doesnt account for any later changes in the final letter but I hope gives some idea about the part number application. I dont know what physical differences there may be

Try looking on Germany ebay also.

You may have looked already, but they are hellishly expensive from Audi. I know, I had to begrudgingly buy one from Audi when the two caliper bolts on mine were completely seized and had to be drilled and cut out.

What's the matter with yours?

Unhappy

Thanks for the help chaps. I've tried finding a second hand unit in the usual places but no luck as yet. Also tried the forum sponsors but they didn't have any in stock.

Car is in getting the suspension kit fitted and the upright snapped whilst extracting the pinch bolt

Currently on back order from Audi, but my mate believes he can source one from TPS for £420

Yeah, the back order took about 10 working days if I remember correctly. You may not have much choice

Price of 'ali' is currently about 70-80p per kg for when you scrap your knackered one

I'm now upgrading to steel / cast iron uprights which were installed on v8 3.3 diesel, w12 and all cars with 20" alloys. There will be no problems with pinch bolt in the future. This will require different lower arms.

Where did it break? It may be possible to tig weld it back together, if you can't find a replacement.
