misfire on cylinder 1
Hi All
I had a cat warning light come on,so I checked the code and it comes up with P0301 (misfire cylinder 1). So I changed the coil and changed the spark plug, when checking again the same code comes up,so I swapped a plug and coil from a cylinder that I know is working, cleared the code and rechecked, but again the same code...Any ideas chaps.http://forum.a8parts.co.uk/images/smilies/mad.gif |

Not sure which engine you have, but could be the ignition amplifier. If it's a V8, try swapping the two over and see if the fault moves.

Hi thanks for quick reply,I have swapped 2,3 and 4 cylinders with 1 but the fault still remains on 1.Where abouts is the amplifier situated.

Hi All
I think I have found the problem,I checked the resistance across the the pins on the ignition amplifier, according to a post on the Audiworld forum which states the resistance should be between 2.0M ohms and 3.0M ohms my pin 1 is showing 1.23M ohms pin 2 2.63M ohms pin 3 2.68M ohms and pin 4 2.65M ohms.So it looks like a faulty ignition amp. |
