Del & Ray: how did you know where to start cutting for the recess?

I've just bought one and I'm worried I'll chop up my toolkit in the wrong place!

I followed Del's destruction guide. Panicked a bit then just got on with it.
Sticking the Stanley knife in at first was scary, but it worked out OK.

Yeah you just have to man up Tony, if you work out roughly where it needs to be and start in the middle and work your way out to the extremity you will soon see the structure from the other side that will dictate where to cut to.

Ha ha! I've been telling myself that since I bought the car! I've been reluctant to open stuff up and do my usual fiddling. I must somehow convince myself, it's a car - just like the others I've owned/worked on over the years.

So, I managed to fit mine last night. It was actually quite a pleasurable little crafts project (yes, I'm that sad). I took the opportunity to clean the toolkit a little seeing as it was outside the car too.

Thanks so much for all your help, I couldn't have done it without you both.

+1 to what Del said.

I also found it quite satisfying.

And I still smile when I close the boot remotely. Talk about sad, I've even been known to stand indoors waiting for someone to walk past and as they do I remotely open and close the boot. The expressions are marvelous.
