I've seen the photos (repeatedly) and it's very very very nice. Unfortunately quite a bit out of my budget (£10k give or take a bit).

I'm hankering after a 4.2 tdi, even though I know I'll only use the extra grunt 1% of the time. I've had the 3.0 tdi in an A6, so I want the A8 to feel different.

There's something about those 2-tone seats in the e-bay car which really does it for me.

Have you seen his car?

Stretch to the 4.2. Never mind the extra grunt (of which there is loads), you'll enjoy a far more refined, smooth and nicer sounding engine, and it'll hold its value better too.

That interior is quite appealing, but its otherwise a very low spec car, although helped somewhat by being both facelift and 3G.

Agree definitely hold out for the V8. Mine's "only" the 4.0 and I wouldn't change it for the world.

Factory: finger print, tv, xenons, keyless entry & go, soft close boot, 19s, and probably lots more besides

Done: fixed headlight washer leak, fit Bluetooth in place of factory phone

To do: DAB, DTV, fix soft close boot, get a spare key, investigate NSF bushes,

well i get 10mpg with the S8 badges on
and 40mpg with them off
im so confused

Anyway.......

that 4.2 tdi engine is without doubt amazing..
but less mpg and the £500 tax disc..
if you want spec you would buy mine..
if you want that 4.2 engine then go for it, i wish i had..
that particular A8 has not even got Bose..Boring..
the B&O was £4500 its worth a grand extra now on any secondhand A8..

This one's only just come up on Autotrader...

http://www4.autotrader.co.uk/classif...ge=2&logcode=p

Getting warmer...but not the one for me. Nice to have the B&O, but there doesn't look to be many other options. The drivers seat bolster looks very tatty. Also - despite being f/l, it doesn't have the nice shiny Start button.

Is it also over-priced? More like 9k really?

The B&O alone is amazing. The seat can be refurbished pretty well I think.

There appear to be blinds, rear climate control and rear view camera... Not exactly poverty spec I think bit if it's the shiney button you want I'd keep lookin'

Oli
