Strewth!
Changed my phone to a Motorola Razr (Andriod) and again twas a doddle.
Got in the car, keyless.
Switched on ignition
Set phone to be BT visible
Hit Tel button on the car and it found it.
Followed cars on screen instructions
Input the code it gave me into the phone
That's it.

Still no contacts though

My Iphone was fine for long enough but it now seems to have a mind of it's own - sometimes connects - sometimes steadfastly refuses

Using the MMI setup info the A8 produces a 16 digit number to stick in the phone! and it times out rather quickly...... although it has on occasion accepted the 1234 default!

It'll say 'no bluetooth item detected'. FFS the phone is 2 feet away and discoverable!

I do shout at it so maybe it's just being sensitive........

My old Samsung pairs no problem though. Apple seem to restrict their Bluetooth software somewhat - Big Brother I assume.

16 digit code is for rSAP rather than standard bluetooth.

Apple are a PITA.. not so keen on another iPhone when my contract's up.

Thumbs up

Ah! Ha! So for an iPhone forget the rSap. I end up telling the iPhone and the car to forget each other and start again!

Bit hit or miss though.

Thanks for the rSap tip

I get it now and again on mine, but just go into the bluetooth settings on the iphone and tell it to connect and it's fine again (as opposed to re-pairing).

Was having the usual connect problems today, sitting at Traffic Lights I re-told it to connect, accepted what it showed without looking properly and it connected to someones Citroen setup!

I've now got A-friend1 ,2, 3 etc on the DIS.

How do I dump the lot and tell it to reload my info?

Brief reminder for anyone:

1) Insert the key into the ignition and turn the car to ACC ON. Do not start the car.
2) You now have 10 secs to scan on your phone for the Audi kit, otherwise it hides itself again
3) Pin Code by default is 1234. You can change it by going to TEL > SETTINGS > BLUETOOTH SETTINGS > PIN
4) Done!

I was going wrong as I have been using the keyless go, and for some reason it won't detect it if you do it that way!!

So there you go!
Thank you very much for this... god knows why you have to put the key in the ignition, but it did the trick for me.

Regards,

Daniel
