Default tyre pressure monitoring system fault

Audi A8 W12 2005 Milage 14000 From New

There Apears To Be A Fault On The Tyre Pressure Monitoring System, Will Not Initialise Or Display Tyre Pressures. The System Used To Work Fine Could Anything Require Resetting, i Did Disconnect The Battery Some Months Ago For Charging Purposes. Where Do I Start? Audi Garages Don`t Apear To Have A Clue.

Any Help Would Be Very Much Apreciated, Many Thanks Mel

Would really need a scan with VAG-COM to work out the problem. Could be the control unit or jus tneeding recoded so the car knows it has the TPMS system.

Where are you? We could probably find someone local.

It only takes one faulty sensor to take down the whole system, which is a bit stupid really, and the only way to know that is to vagcom it to get the error codes.

My offside front sensor is dicky, so I have to turn the system off to stop it shouting at me....

TPM is really a PITA frankly, the RS6 had it too and it was constantly having problems as the sensors are fragile to say the least.

If it breaks, turn it off and forget about it is my advice as you'll constantly be chasing faults in the slightly older (aka just out of warranty!) cars.

I'm quite addicted to watching the tyre pressure/temperature. It makes a lot of difference when they've heated up. In fact I've had them inflated with nitrogen to minimise the cold effect. OCD
