Hoses - windscreen washer
My windscreen washer hoses don't look right.
Some monkey that took my bumper off re-connected the hoses in a funny way, some of the hoses are quite squashed and it doesn't look right. The elbow joint has so much tension on it you can see the black plastic clip doesn't sit straight. Can someone please take a pic of their windscreen washer hoses at this junction which can be seen through the driver's side fog light girlle. Also he seems to have ruined the windscreen washer reservoir level sensor because even when the reservoir is full I get the level low warning. I'm guessing they pulled on the bumper before they realised they had to release the hoses. Am I right in thinking the level sensor is a part of the pump unit and I'll have to replace the whole washer pump? |

I'll try and get out asap to get a photo but isnt the T-piece with elbow the wrong way around? It would seem sensible for it to be positioned so the elbow points in the direction of run of the lower pipe which would reduce the obvious tension in the joint.
If someone beats me to it then, no problems. (I am supposed to be doing other "non-car" related stuff )

Here you are but it looks possible that mine has been modded sometime in the past too! The hose clips on the pipe going from/to the headlight washer seem to be OEM but the pipe from the T-piece seems to have been modded with jubilee clips and a short length of plastic pipe!

Interesting. None of mine had removable joints - they have all been the white fixed T piece like David's (a 99, and two 02s). The grey car now has a removable joint I salvaged from something else and the hose runs in from the top so its easier to get to.
This is a typical example of Audi thoughtless design. A hose which becomes so hard with age that its impossible to remove except by cutting it apart, and once you do get it apart, it dumps all the screenwash on the floor. Much schadenfreude in Ingolstadt when they thought up that one. |

Thanks everyone, looks like I'm going to have to do some re-arranging. Your pictures look much more sensible even if a bit different to mine.
I'm sure Audi are having a laugh at our expense. There are so many frustrating areas on the D2. Although generally its not such a bad car to work on. |

Looks like they twisted my headlight washer pump 90 degrees, everyone elses picture show the pump hose joint to be parallel with the bumper.
