Have Jake from F1 Dents visiting later today to hopefully remove some dents from both sides. The plan is to get some paint correction undertaken at a later date once all sizeable dents have been removed

Will post back one he's done - http://www.f1dents.co.uk

Have a couple on the passenger side but very difficult to photograph.

driver side rear door:

Tricky one - rear quarter - appears to have seen some paint, so unsure if Jake can tackle this:

Looks worse in this pic, the cloud reflection doesn't help:

I'd be very interested to know how it goes.

I've got a couple of small dents too, but I'm yet to find anyone who can do PDR on aluminium panels. Had a few try, but all failed.

If successful, it'd be interesting to know his technique, since dents in aluminium can't simply be popped back out like they can with steel of course.

Me too. Hoping you update with the after photos.

Ok, so job done and I'm very happy with the way its turned out on the panels Jake could attend to. He didn't think he had sufficient access to the work on the front door, a constraint caused by the channelling for the double glazed windows. I need to ask him if he could retry with the door cards etc all stripped out - will see if I can find a photo of the inner view of the door with card removed and see if accessible then.

Otherwise some pics of progress:

Arch liner removed, 8mm access hole drilled into inner skin for access to outer skin from inside:

Dent is pushed out from behind and tapped out from outside - seemed counter productive to be tapping in, but what do I know:

Bit of heat to assit paint flexibility, but with ally also helps soften the panel:

Final result on the tricky panel - was treated with a rotary machine with cutting compound, prior to final polishing. The dent has gone, so smooth to the touch, however there is a very minor 'flaw' in the paintwork, ie it looks like a crease in the paint, but is smooth to touch if that makes sense. You really need to look for it, and so much better than before!

OSR door:

Similar approach as the rear quarter - 8mm access hole drilled in top of door, behind the rubber seal (will add a pic later) but above the lock mechanism, dents pushed out, heated, tapped and polished.

He found another dent near the lower leading edge which I hadn't noticed, and managed to access via the hole where the loom enters the front edge of the rear door.

Again , a very minor flow visible up close, way way better than before:

Final cost was £100 for four imperfections to be removed, good value I thought, especially as I used to notice most of them each I went to open the drivers door. Relatively small price to pay when you're as OCD as i am.

Wow! Pretty impressive +++

Thanks for posting :)

I suspect north Manchester is a bit far for him to travel to remove a few dents for me, but at least that proves it's possible to do, given good panel access and the right skills.

Yes, i think Herts/North London are his main areas, but as you say proves its possible.

Great work. My S8 is the same colour as yours and has a golf ball-sized small dent in the front quarter next to the bonnet which always catches my eye and annoys me every time so I'm definitely more confident about getting it removed by a paintless dent guy now after seeing this

Glad I could help :). Can you confirm your colour code please - mine is missing from service book and spare wheel well?
