Hi all, in my 1997 S8 I've had a leak in the driver's side interior, which I think I've tracked down to a machined hole on top of the bulkhead between the strut top and the bonnet hinge, quite near the drain for this area that drains in to the wheel arch. I'm not sure what it's supposed to be for?!
Anyway, I've now removed the carpet to dry it out and found a black box connected to the loom by a brown connector, this sits under the carpet under the drivers seat (right hand drive) and I have no idea what it is. I don't think it's been sitting in water but will undoubtedly have got very damp down there. anyone know what it is?
The black box is about 4" x 3" x 1" and seems sealed for life and has a tang (right word?!) either side with a hole, presumably to fix it down, but it wasn't fixed and there are no obvious holes in the body to fix it to either.
Any suggestions appreciated.
