I thought suspension issues were quite rare on the D4 ?
I presume a relay is only a few quid. It's got me thinking maybe I should change mine, it's also a 2011.

Hello guys
I have an audi A8 2014, suspension collapsed and after a short visit to a garage they said it is the compressor. I ordered one in Germany, way cheaper than uk. I replaced the old one, stil does not work. I got a relay wit the new one but i am not sure about the location of the relay. I could not find on internet a diagram, in the service book of the car they give only the fuses diagram and not the relay. Can anyone advise please?

Post #2 above has an image attached giving location details and position within relay carrier.

My panel looks a bit different. I tried to upload a photo but it does not work.
I don’t t have modules on the right side. Only on the bottom

Looking up the part number listed above, the relay is the light green one with 644 stamped on it.

It might be worth adding your car details to your signature line, as that would help when it comes to someone else trying to identify it.

It's also worth popping along to the Introductions (https://forum.a8parts.co.uk/forumdisplay.php?f=4) thread and introducing yourself. Pictures are a bonus.

So, replaced the compressor and the relay, but it still does not receive power to start it and lift the car. I wonder what is the problem. My little tester does not give a fault code. Just tells me level low. Anyone knows a good testing program? I really don’t want to go to audi garage and pay 200 plus VAT per hour.

The go-to diagnostic tool for the DIY mechanic with Audis (and other VAG vehicles) is VCDS by Ross-Tech. The official retailers in the UK are listed on the following page (scroll to the bottom):

https://www.ross-tech.com/distributors.php

The majority of the ones available online elsewhere are clones, and may or may not work, but if you're planning on keeping the car long term, it's a wise investment, especially with dealer prices.

As the saying goes, 'other brands are available', such as OBDeleven and Carista, but I have no experience of them, so can't comment on suitability.

If you get a decent scanner, it's worth uploading a full scan here, as some people may have already experienced the same issues.

As these cars are overly complex, I'd suggest you refrain from throwing parts at it for now until you get a decent scan tool, as the root cause could be something completely different, and you would just be wasting money.
