I don't have any pictures to hand so will keep this short..

From test passing - Mk2 escort (with capri 3litre Ghia seats, and 2lt pinto engine from a cortina - piece of 5bar gate as the straight exhaust, finished in cherry bomb if anyone remembers them!)
Another Mk2 - similar mods
Subaru pickup - can't remember what model it was but was quick!
Orion Ghia - first flash car - heated screen and electric windows :-)
Escort XR3 (don't ask why)
Escort GL Ghia - the sloped front one - must be a mk4 I guess.
er.. BMW 320 E36
(Citroen Xantia loaned while the Beemer was off the road for a while)
205 Gti (got nicked and burnt)
Astra SXi Company car
Golf Tdi " "
BMW 323 " "
Audi A4 " "
Honda Accord " " (used to run a car fleet and pretty well change it every 6 months)
BMW 525i
BMW 730i (awesome car - sorry!)
LR Discovery 3.9i (crap MPG but fun)
Honda Prelude 2.2 4 wheel steer
Golf Mk3 Gti
Honda Civic Type R
Honda Civic, then CR-v, then three civics, then hybrid (utterly ****), then new shape CR-v, then some more civics, another CR-v.
Left Honda.. Merc E220
Audi A8 (current)

May have missed some land rovers in there somewhere but most of them probably weren't 'take the missus out' motors :-)

Why ? :D

205 Gti (got nicked and burnt)

Sadly I think most did, i've never driven one but would have like to. I was offered a mint one last year, but turned it down...

Honda Prelude 2.2 4 wheel steer

Nice nice nice.... 2.2 must have been vtec though, which from memory never came to the UK officially as a manual... But still, that 4 wheel steering was awesome. It could park anywhere with the inverted lock, and the crabbing action at high speed, worked really well somehow....

XR3 - no excuse. thought it was cool at the time.
205 was the 1.9 and had an awesome exhaust and stereo - again for the time. Proper pocket rocket and noisy!! was just a target to car theifs in basingstoke essentially..
The 2.2 was a great car. Best VTec they did, crazy revs and an S2000 style power band around 4500 - 5000 rpm
the steering too some getting used to but like you say worked flawlessly and was good for parking. It was an Auto as you mention if I recall

Oh and missed a Rover coupe 'targa top' aswell. That thing drove on rails and had a great engine.. just no cred!
