Face-lift or pre face-lift?

Hi all
Just looking at buying some second hand spares for future needs but a seller has no idea of the manufactur year of the donor car.

He has given me the vin but I don't know how to find out from using that. Can anyone help?

Edit: On second thoughts looks PF (4DZ) and probably around 1998 (W = 1998 model year)?

One of the decoders shows it as a 1998

My original PF S8 had an X in that model year digit and was late 1998 build, 1999 model year.
So the car in question is probably a 1998 model year design built in late 1997 or early 1998.
There are people here who can get the actual build date, it should also be on the build sticker in the spare wheel well if that's survived!
