Hi everyone,

Could you guys please recommend good body shop? I visit Ben regularly, but they don't do painting. I need to paint a couple of parts. Good family business type of establishment would be great.

I'm based in Reading area.

Thanks.

UPDATE:

Brought two scuffed moldings to www.prestigequalityrepaircentre.co.uk in Reading. Removed moldings from the car myself. Just asked to paint the moldings. They quoted GBP 100. Come to pick up moldings, pay 100 pounds, try on the car -- color doesn't match -- moldings are too dark. Call the guy. He explains they use computer where they enter color code, computer prepares paint and they can't control it -- this is the way this industry works now :) Tried to explain I was expecting him to try paint pieces of paper and compare to the existing color first, but he doesn't hear me.

Oh well, my first experience with Prestige Quality Repair Center in Tilehurst, Reading...

Really need an establishment to build long term relationship with. Should be relatively small organisation, otherwise it's impossible to explain anyone anything...

Each attempt costs me 100 pounds :-) Fortunately, moldings are easy to remove.

I guess this should be moved to recommended supplier section.

Hang on a moment are you wanting to recommend a supplier that has painted parts the wrong colour because "The computer says"?

Don't pay him untill they get it right and if he doesn't like it tell him the computer pays out the cash and theres nothing you can do about it.

No, I'm damn far from recommending Prestige Quality Repair Center.

I was stupid enough to pay them for the moldings before trying it on the vehicle to check the color. I just didn't realize that in XXI century the problem of matching color still exists. I painted other cars many times and color always matched.

My problem is that I moved in to Reading area and I don't know a good body shop I can trust, so I have to search with a trial and error.

Ask MRC Tuning who they use, they know a very good one that done some work to their S4.

I know the people they used on their white B5 S4 widebody are rated very highly.

Painted moldings at establishment called Specialised Paintwork (http://www.specialisedpaintwork.com)

80 pounds. No problem with color. Very friendly. Family Business. 10 minutes of drive from home :) Will go there next time.

Thank everyone!
