Guys,

Does anyone happen to have a picture of a D2 S8 with the new S8 rim fitted. I think they are a nice rim but would love to see on a D2 before I committed to buying. Have been looking for final edition alloys for so long now Ive nearly given up and would consider something else.... hence these !

when you say "new style" do you mean the straight spoke type or the later flared spoke type?

The straight spoke type -

or do you mean this type? (I haven't seen a D2 with those yet)

I meant the straight spoke like your top picture.......

They actually look quite good. What do ya think ?

I assume thats a photoshopped picture so it may not look as good if they were a little smaller / real size !

Opinions ? Anyone have these on their's ? I assume no problem with fit ?

Thx again !

no they are on an actual car that was at the German meet we went to recently
they look great - the car is very lowered as you can see. hes going to re-colour them a graphite grey which will look great with the wrap he has on the car

The black car proves to me that when the 8 sits at her normal height without the suspension being lowered these wheels just don't have the same effect...... only my opinion ! They need to be bigger ! LOL

in that case you need 21" wheels like mine lol
But a big chunk of getting the wheels to look like you want will always be how the wheels fill the arches and you can do that with spacers and suspension mods like coilovers to to get things just right. It always annoyed me how much higher the gap at the front arch was on the 8's versus the rear which is why I put coilovers on mine to adjust that gap.

Pretty sure the wheels on that black car are not 20"s.

I wondered that in which case they are replicas, mind you the arches on these cars are huge lol hmm.. . .

not necessarily replicas, those wheels, or similar I think, go right down to 17"s on the A1 and probably the A3 too.

19"s could have come off an A6

Funny thing is, and I know this is personal taste, but I think yours looks slightly too low now at the back, as if there's a few bags of cement in the boot  .
The front is spot on though. +++

That really low German car we're discussing I don't like. :(

lol well strangely I havent lowered the back at all, I didnt dare with 10.5 inch wheels and 295 tyres to fit in! What I havent done is lowered the front quite enough to give the same look, which was deliberate based upon the fact that I can still just about handle the speed bumps and cr*ppy roads that the UK throws at us! It was interesting that when Guy tried my car recently in North Wales he said he was amazed at how smooth it was and how little "discomfort" the suspension and wheels gave compared to what he was expecting!

(Mind you I've just remembered, I've probably got a bootful of stuff in there most of the time so it probably would sit a tad higher unloaded)
